THE BEAUTY OF NATURE

Friends of White River County Park

2025: A Year of Renewal and Impact

After the quiet of the pandemic years, 2025 marked a strong return to action for Friends of White River County Park. Working closely with county staff and community partners, volunteers contributed 300+ hours, completed three major improvement projects, and hosted three community events that brought people together to celebrate this special place.

Highlights included new rest and gathering spaces along park trails, enhanced access and safety improvements, and a major native plant and erosion-control project at the historic barn, where 111 native plants were installed to protect the landscape and showcase local ecology. Friends of the WRCP also continued long-term stewardship of the rock garden, supported trail and bridge maintenance, and closed the year with a beloved Winter Solstice Celebration. Together, these efforts reflect a shared commitment to caring for the park—for today and heading into 2026.

COME EXPLORE

Winter is a great time to come to the Park. Well worn paths for walking, go into the more wild trails with snowshoes, and at times skis. Come explore.
